PISS "blocking a scene you can't remember" Sub Pop · out 29 Sep · from you made me / skin on linen, 30 Oct

Taped

Can we swear? No? Ok. Darn. We got chills listening to this, it is superb. Haunting, atmospheric, genre-defying, you just have to go and listen to it now. We're talking song of the year contender here.

RH-NP-02

Liam McKenzie & Lex Ferrari "Insomnity (Remix)" Out today · standalone

Taped

The original is one of the songs of the year so when we heard it was being remixed we were delighted. This is excellent and one that'll be getting a lot of play time.

RH-NP-03

SAVE US "Numb" Tooth & Nail / Solid State · from Death To Something, today

Ticks a lot of boxes for us, heavy beats and moody lyrics but didn't quite hit the spot. We can see us checking out SAVE US.

RH-NP-04

Buried In Spring "Castles" Epitaph · from the EP Buried In Spring, today

Taped

A slow burn that had us by the end. Another band we'll be checking out.

RH-NP-05

Microwave & Puddle Splasher "Heel" Community Music · out 25 Sep · the B-side to “Step Inside”

Two bands on one single is always worth a listen just to see how well they harmonise. Worth a listen.

RH-NP-06

Taylor Swift "Babylon" Republic · from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, 25 Sep

Taped

It took us by surprise but we really liked this. We mean, we love Tay but this was a fun listen. Reminded us of 1989.

RH-NP-07

wakelee "Joyce Kilmer Service Area" Wax Bodega · from Under Construction Forever, 9 Oct

We have no idea what the title is about but it's worth a listen.

RH-NP-08

Chernikovskaya Hata "Мальчик мой" ДСХХ · out 28 Aug · standalone

Taped

They came from the East to take over our playlist and we're welcoming them as conquering heroes. This is excellent.

RH-NP-09

Ally Nicholas "A Ditch" Position Music · out 25 Sep · standalone

We went back for a second listen before writing this up. It's heavy, which we like, and it hits a lot of the right notes for us. It caught our interest for sure but would we go back to it? Time will tell.

RH-NP-10

Sincere Engineer & Audiotree "Fast Forward, Rewind (Audiotree Version)" Hopeless · from the EP Sincere Engineer | Audiotree Sessions, 14 Oct

Taped

We have a soft spot for Sincere Engineer and the Audiotree version of "Fast Forward, Rewind" is a drop of joy on this cold October morning.

RH-NP-11

Chloe Slater "The Underground" stolen juice · from Riot Youth, 9 Oct

This takes a while to come alive but it gets there in the end as it takes you on a melodic tour of London's sights.

RH-NP-12

Amira Elfeky "Breakdown" Atlantic · out 30 Sep · from It was only a dream, 13 Nov

Taped

Power ballads will always appeal to us and "Breakdown" is no exception. It's bold, moody, and grabs your attention from the off. She probably wouldn't call it a power ballad though.

RH-NP-13

Shiba Inu of Wall Street "The Years We Left Unlived" 3976064 Records DK · out 4 Oct · standalone

Taped

Yes! This is a glorious burst of synth-pop brilliance. Go, listen, enjoy!

RH-NP-14

Vana "Bleeding Heart" Sumerian · out 16 Sep · standalone

Taped

Bold and brash, this hits hard and fast and afterwards you're grateful that you heard it.

RH-NP-15

PÆRISH "Hurry Slowly" SideOneDummy · from RITA, today

We can't help but feel it's being played a little bit safe but sometimes the middle of the road isn't a bad place to be.

RH-NP-16

Ben Quad "I Only Let You Down Now" Pure Noise · out 12 Oct · standalone

Taped

Taking Back Sunday vibes on this one, a strong contender for song of the week so go check it out.

RH-NP-17

Selfish Things "Hollow Point" FLG · from Receptivity, 9 Oct

Kept waiting for this to burst into life and it never quite did.

RH-NP-18

Kingdom of Giants "The Edge Of A Dream" SharpTone · from Usurper, 13 Nov

Taped

Metal is in safe hands with bands like Kingdom of Giants. Screams, drums, and electronica make this a track we recommend.

RH-NP-19

Lis Sørensen "Falltürwahrheiten" From Ghettogospel, 10 Oct

Bouncy euro-pop to round out the week.
